Hastings, MI — (Wednesday, April 22, 2015) — It’s not uncommon for a Father/Son combination to race against each other in all forms of motorsports. What is somewhat of a rarity is when it’s a Father/Daughter combo competing against one another for a Championship. In the case of the Bush family, that’s exactly what’s going to happen in 2015 at Berlin Raceway (MI) when veteran Joe Bush and his daughter, Lauren Bush will both go after the Boyne Machine Company Super Late Model Series title.
For the 2015 racing season, Lauren Bush, driving for her own Lauren Bush Racing Team, will set her sights on the 2015 Championship at Berlin Raceway in the tracks premier Template Super Late Model division. In addition to the full schedule at Berlin, the Hastings, Michigan driver will also look to make select appearances in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS as well as the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance primarily in her home state of Michigan. Her father, Joe Bush will be competing against her running for the Racing Awareness supporting the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Team.
“It is a dream come true to be able to race alongside my dad all season long competing for a championship.” Stated the 21-year-old driver. “I also hope to be an inspiration to others to know that no matter what obstacles you may face to not give up on your dreams just as I have done.” She added.
While only making four starts in 2014, Bush was impressive in those limited appearances. She posted a season high finish of a fifth after a lengthy battle with her father, three-time track champion, Joe Bush, in the Template Super Late Model portion of the special Wednesday, July 30th Money in the Bank event at Berlin Raceway. She also raced in both the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and ARCA/CRA Super Series portions of the Battle at Berlin 251 Weekend on July 18-19th.
In the JEGS/CRA portion of the Berlin 251 Weekend, she qualified eighth quick out of 33 cars and led the field to the green flag from P1. She ran in the top five for most of the event before an accident ended her night. She also raced in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at Springport Motor Speedway on September 20th and was the last car on the lead lap in a race slowed by only three cautions.
For the 2015 racing season, Bush’s familiar white and fluorescent orange #101 Lauren Bush Racing / Chevrolet will carry sponsorship support and decals from Port City Racecars as well as Enterprise Iron & Metal. In addition, Liberty Muffler & Brakes, Bush Farms Mini Excavating, T.A.A.G. Tooling & Accessories and M.P.H. Promotions are all on the car as well.
